We're brimming with ideas in marshmallow world at the minute. Ideas for new flavours and new products have been triggered by all sorts of things from seeing a pile of windfall apples in the garden, to the sumptuous taste of something scrumptious, a chance offering at one of our favourite cafes, or coming across an intriguing new ingredient.
Research suggests that being inspired by something firstly requires an openness to imagining new possibilities and ways of doing things. We're always thinking about new ways of sharing joy with our tasty treats. Once our interest is peaked by exciting new ideas we feel compelled to bring them to fruition. For us the kitchen of creations becomes an experimentation zone. We get absorbed in conjuring new creations. There are lots of trials and setbacks along the way and arriving at the finished article always takes longer than anticipated, but the development of decadent delights can't be rushed.
The literature on inspiration indicates that sparks of inspiration are linked to: being open and trying new things, not letting competitiveness or fear of failure get in your way and remaining optimistic in the face of setbacks.
